| Hello Michael Garlich,
This is good news.. !!
But will it work on AmigaOS4.0 without emulation?

| Looks really good. I am also looking forward to an AmigaOS 4.0 native version, but it“s a little too expensive for me. |

I'd probably buy it if there was a native OS4 version but who needs yet another 68k emulated Amiga app? _________________ Fixed A1G4XE 7455 RX933PC with fried CPU Sapphire Radeon 9100 128mb ESI Juli@ 24bit 192kHz Envy24HT Sil 680 Ultra Ata 133 E-ide SeaGate Barracuda 120gb 8mb cache

| I'll buy a copy in a flash if there is a native OS4 version available. I think the cost is quite reasonable.
But I'm not going to waste money on archaic 68k stuff. Let's see a proper native version - the OS4 SDK is out there and there is plenty of help available for porting efforts.

| I will buy it if it works on OS4 without any issues. Also an upgrade discount for 68k->PPC for when/if an OS4 version comes would be nice.

Agreed.
If it runs sweet on Os4, with the upgrade option, I'm in.Last edited by The_Editor on 14-Dec-2004 at 05:53 AM.

Hope to hear more from Mr. Garlich about that at some point.. _________________

| I`m still very interested in DTP on Amiga and I hope Papyrus is nice product & can import Word docs. Anyway - I`ll definitelly decide to buy it when try Demo Version. Strange that something is asked for preordering without ability to download a demo!? _________________ nykk | deetronic.rs | youtube.com/djnykk | gfx.river | mamavolibebu.com

| I'm not sure if Ttitan really has an interest in an OS 4 version, but let's hope for the best ... _________________ "Who do you think is this guy - god ?" "No, god knows mercy !"

| I'd much rather have an OS4 native version, however I've been having serious problems with Wordworth since the OS4 update so even the 68k version is tempting.
However, I'd like to try a demo or at least see a review first.
edit and I've just noticed that it requires Turboprint, which I don't have and would rather not use on OS4. Last edited by Chris_Y on 14-Dec-2004 at 08:51 AM.

| Pre-order?? Never again!
(Bitten once too many times before...)
(Edit: To be fair, I haven't RTFA, so I don't know for certain that you have to pay in advance for it or not; the phrase "pre-order" strikes fear into my wallet, though...!) Last edited by Chunder on 14-Dec-2004 at 09:05 AM.

| If its proven that the OS3 68K version functions perfectly on OS 4 then I would definately buy Papyrus office, as apart from anything else it looks to have good table support, which is missing from all Amiga WP.
However if it is not guaranteed to work then I would have to think about it, as if it doesn't work I am likely to get support so that it can be made to work?!?! If not There is no point buying it.

| I don't get it. If there is an AmigaOS3.x version as well as a MorphOS version, isn't an AmigaOS4 version just a recompile away? Last edited by samface on 14-Dec-2004 at 10:52 AM.

Basically, yes. The needed amount of reworking the code depends heavily on how its written.. but if it plays by the rules and doesn't try to be "clever" adding -D__USE_INLINE__ and -lauto to the Makefile should do most of the trick..
Back on topic: I would buy a native OS4 version only... even if the 68k version would run without any issue under emulation, i agree with the others and won't waste money for ancient 68k stuff anymore if its not absolutely necessary.. _________________ Regards, Cyborg.
