posted by Crisot on 21-Aug-2005 19:45:17 (29162 reads)
Asked by Hyperion, this is a video showing a new feature natively supported by the intuition.library, and some other stuffs.

http://uniweb.free.fr/os4videos/os4intuition.avi

you need a player able to replay xvid codec (dvplayer, mplayer...)

Thank you from the bottom of my tiny little heart.
I added it to my OS4demo drawer for the next club
meeting.

Wow - perhaps all that pestering by people did work

Anyone know how this is done? Screens of different resolutions filling the area don't seem to have been implemented, so presumably this isn't using OpenGL like Quartz does for effects on MacOS. While the A1 has the horsepower to blit the whole screen to "fake" the drag, the thing stopping this working fully, as I understand it, has been interacting with the mouse with the other screens. Presumably the new intution can "pass through" mouse events to other screens, or something like that? I'm out of my depth here

Nice one

---edit---

Very nicely done video BTW. And how did the OS4 team manage to keep this a secret, I wonder?

OS4 Team you have done a great job ! The demo smelled "almost release"
so that would mean I can have my new Amiga very soon. At least I hope so.

Thanx again, can we have more videos ?

Wow! Screen dragging.. This is really great news!
Though I have been customed to not having it for the last couple
of years so I didn't miss it that much really
But you really enjoy it when you have it...

@Crisot

Best quality yet! And more professional with nicer fades and good music.
Great work dude!

I am sick with envy I`m going to cry. Does anyone want to swap their A1 for a kidney?
It`s not fair, I deserve one.

I read on the 'Dragon' thread this was to be a surprise (well, it is....) But it went public 'cause it leaked out.

Anyway... NICE

I have been living without it for a long time and not realy missing it, but I'm glad it's back and I'll surely will use it again a LOT !

Thanks OS4 team !

Martin

@Develin: yes, the feature brings the great Amiga feeling back. It's very satisfactory to press the LMB and drag the screen :)

It's also very useful sometimes, to see 2 or even more screens at the same time.
