An ongoing issue with the mass acceptance of AmigaOS 4 is the lack of high end modern professional software applications. The Amiga's software library is impressively large, but most of the applications have not been updated or modernized. Some end users have paid for updates to software that have never come or have incomplete versions.

An update of the AVCodec plug-in for Hollywood 5: Infinity has just been released. This update supports Hollywood 5.3's new file type handler and is able to play FLAC compressed audio files now.

Today, another new Plaza Hotel contact, Kelly, informed me that due to technical issues it would be best that we change from Ballroom 8 to Jockey Room 1. I agreed, even though it is only 9 days to CommVEx. Jockey Room 1, a room that we have used in past CommVExes, is located at the bottom of the ramp to the third floor garage.

I am happy to announce the release of the finished HDAudio driver for the AmigaOne X1000! The driver now supports recording as well as playback. It also now supports S/PDIF optical output.
There have been questions about whether full “32 bit” audio really makes a difference. I’d like to dig a little deeper to better understand the technical specifications....

Inspired by a variety of classics including Arkanoid, Space Invaders and Tetris, Huenison is a frantic-paced hybrid of shoot 'em up and colour-matching puzzle game presented in neo-retro, unique visual styles.
Piloting a small mobile cannon back and forth across the bottom of a well, you must cycle through your six coloured beams, firing at the descending onslaught of corresponding coloured bricks. Missed shots bring the deadly zapper closer to your cannon, and missed bricks raise the ground they touch.
But this is just to begin with.

XSane 0.999 for AmiCygnix released |

A new version of XSane for AmiCygnix is now available on OS4-depot. It includes the current versions 0.999 of XSane and 1.0.23 of the sane backends.
The most important enhancement is the working genesys backend. So many Canon LiDE and other scanners are working now. Other backend were also improved.
Only scanners with USB connector or with network interface are supported now.
