It's just amazing..
I don't trust the courts to always get it right, but this time I think they did.

I have my own suspicions about the "big announcement", but it's pure guesswork, so I'll keep it to myself.

The future really is looking brighter!

It was an out of court settlement not a ruling.

I have one word, finally!

Sadly the lawsuit has done way too much damage and even if the lawsuit is over it will take time to get back to normal.

atleast this makes me somewhat more optimistic again and this is the best news in quite some time.

Wow... I leave for a couple of years and look what happens. Just happened to think today that I haven't even opened any Amiga site for a long time.

Glad to see that the legal stuff appears to have come to an end. Now where is my PS3 port?

Same place as the MacMini port - ruled out by Hyperion a long time ago (and nothing to do with the legal battles)...

This is the best news and the most important change in the Amiga history since the time of Commodore...

@ amitv

What "Update"?

I only see the original Hyperion Press Release.

Allow me to interpret for amitv...

He sees the statement earlier on the site indicating their only "holdup" is the lawsuit.
Then he sees the statement from Troika acknowledging the settlement.
Then he hints at putting those 2 statements together to get people thinking...

@amitv

Am I close on this? heh.

One should not have to try to figure out what another person is saying. Well, it could be that there is a language barrier here. Or my eyes are failing more quickly than I imagined.

Again, Hyperion staff have been in these parts being highly critical of people's suggestions of a NatAmi port. The news of the settlement, great as it is, isn't going to bring a Mac, NatAmi or PS3 port any closer!

As far as I can tell, Hyperion's opposition to porting OS4 to 68k is that they don't see enough sales to be worth their while. It is possible that they could be amenable to licensing the 3.1 source code to the Natami team so they can make the changes they want (eg to put SAGA drivers in the kickstart ROM).
