As Rogue said - pictures don't change anything. Look at the pretty pictures of the SharkPPC and Dragon from Elbox... |

Claiming that showing product images doesn't change anything is complete nonsense.
These pictures are evidence that the products physically exist in marketable form.
Obviously, product photos are not any guarantee that the product will appear in the market. Still, the pictures are proof that the product really exists.
Very detailed photos of the Dragon board show that Elbox has invested a lot of time (i.e. money) into developing this hardware, so it follows that their intention is to market it.
Lack of photos, as is the case of the ACK "product," indicates that the product does not exist in any tangible form, that it is only in the form of a few sentences of an announcement.
Suggestion: Why doesn't Hyperion, instead of lamenting that they haven't received Shark cards until now, make available the necessary HAL documentation for Amiga OS4, so that all hardware producers (and not only Adam Kowalczyk) could adapt their hardware to Amiga OS4 in their own scope? |

No.
I won't believe in a product which I have NEVER seen working and from which I have never HEARD that it worked - especially NOT on the Amiga market.

"Marketable form"? Hahaha!
Nothing to add here...

I would agree on something like "a proof that something like circuit board with some undefined chips on it exists".

Yery detailed... Right... So WHY don't they post any news about its status? "the first production processor batch for us would be 27 September" "we hope, the DRAGON 1200 boards sales will start by the end of October."
Why don't they tell us something about the status of the Dragon? Is it completely abandoned? Is it on hold? Is it just about to be released? Why does the Shark already appear in the online-shop for quite some time now - and why not the Dragon? |

It is up to you what YOU belive and what you don't. We do not talk here about your belief system, but about the function of photographs of products developed by companies.
The Amiga market is abundant with announcements for various products. Of course, unless the product is available for the public, there is always a risk that it will never enter the production stage. However, you can assess probability of its production life by the degree of work and effort put in it (read: money invested).
Presenting photographs of a new hardware under development discloses information of advancement of work on this product. In my opinion photographs of Dragon board are proof that the product physically exist in marketable form.

You don't understand, I can see.
By a 'marketable form' I mean a product in the stage of a complete board, which is capable to be offered for sale in a market.
So I don't mean here a product at the stage of some unclear universal board with cables sprouting from it... The more so, I don't mean a product at the stage of element drawings... And what's more, I don't mean a product that is only in the form of a few sentences of an announcement...

I feel like talking to a blind person about colours....
You may be sure that these are not some "undefined chips" for anybody who knows a little about electronics.

That didn't help the AmiJoe or BoXeR either, and their photos looked pretty decent. _________________ All glory to the Hypnotoad!

How do you know that it is in a stage to "be offered for sale"? How do you know that it is properly working at all? How long have you been in the Amiga-scene to show such a strong believe in a "product" just from looking at some photos?
