The product that we are going to ship is going to be much better than OSX from Apple, so OS 5 is not an accurate name or description of the product offering. |

| I would like to know on what OS5 is based on, or perharps it is writing from scratch
In whatever case OS5 sounds awesome, at least in the paper Last edited by Fransexy on 07-Oct-2006 at 12:12 PM.

| Who are the Amiga Inc Board of Directors? It is public data but as a non-American I don't really know in which database to look. Anyone who can help out?
Why do I ask? "The board of directors are international in nature, and are all highly successful people. They also have a vision for what Amiga is going to be, and they are directly involved in us getting there. " |

| I don't want to run Word in my cellphone!! For that there are laptops. I don't want to run pacman in my windows box, heck actually I can already do that. Even when portable devices get very powerfull they will still have different requirements and uses.
If there was a market for this it would have already been done, still they continue to insist on this crap... Last edited by Jose on 07-Oct-2006 at 01:06 PM. Last edited by Jose on 07-Oct-2006 at 01:05 PM.

Of the three only the PS3 uses Cell processors. All three devices do use processors based on PPC technology though.
It's good to know Amiga Inc has dozens of software engineers and combined with a few dozen 3rd party developers they sure have development muscle. Hopefully the road from OS4 towards the successor OS will be without too many bumps.
Respect for Amiga Inc for turning the tide! |

Yes, and they haven't even started writing the kernel yet ... Last edited by Jose on 07-Oct-2006 at 01:10 PM.

| If AmigaOS 5.0 would be better than MacOS X this would only mean they base it on the BSD-kernel.
..and McBill probably never even tried OS X. |

You really understand what you read? do you understand the verbs?
Th exact phrase:
Quote:
The product that we are going to ship is going to be much better than OSX from Apple |
"going to be" is equal to "want to be"/"planned to be".Understandable, after all if you want to be successful you must to make a better product than the competenceLast edited by Fransexy on 07-Oct-2006 at 01:26 PM.

| @Fransexy ""going to be.."
That's why it's funny, Bill contradicts himself all the way. They say they don't want to make announcements till they have products done (to avoid past errors sort of speak) , yet he doesn't constrain himself a bit to announce their OS will be better than OSX. Heck they haven't shipped a single product in what, 7 years, yet their OS, which doesn't even has any kernel coding done is going to be better than OSX. What will be the sate of OSX when AInc actually ships an OS anyway ..? Last edited by Jose on 07-Oct-2006 at 01:38 PM.

Innovating is good, spending money and resources with braindead ideas is NOT good. But I guess everyone has their own opinion as to wether it's a good idea ;) _________________

| @MikeB "Hopefully the road from OS4 towards the successor OS will be without too many bumps."
It's now know that the AOS4 buyback clause (or whatever..) doesn't include the source for some parts of it. Hyperion had the sources for 3.x and they had a LOT of bumps. _________________
