Hyperion did a great job on OS4, nomatter which direction the commercial Amiga(-related) companies will take there will be troubles, the trick is to be creative enough to find acceptable solutions. Without the Billions some rivals are able to spend within this the computer market you have to be even more creative.

Well seems some people just downright refuse to learn from past failures.

Geez, taking McBill serious in 2006, how whacked is that ....

Amiga Inc is not only Bill McEwen (like him or not). Anyhow for example Microsoft never became a success simply because of Bill Gates' widespread popularity.

"Most of the technologies, invents that we all have now were considered braindead ideas when they were conceived"

Not trying to let you down really but...
Even windowsNT had binaries that run on multiple processors in 3.x, the Tao's technology has been know for a while and used, just not to run PDA applications in servers or server applications in PDA's if you will

Amazing!

Insanely hilarious! Seems like McEwen's gotten himself a sense of humour and pokes fun at the crap that has come from him and AInc.

I suppose that if I were one of the blind believers, I might feel a bit insulted by McEwen now. Then again, some of those blind believers might take even this interview seriously! :D

@MikeB

If we wait until Amiga Inc does something intresting and useful we may wait "ad eternum"

-edit-
BTW... what is McEwen smoking? pathethic!

I wonder how people believe him.

They must be really desperate to get some investors.

This is true. I won't get excited or even mildly interested in anything Amiga Inc promise for the future until OS4 hardware ships at least. (or at last! )

It's ironic that Bill McEwen is giving interviews anywhere except for AmigaWorld.Net - Atheist and all others who consider this site is called AmigaIncWorld.Net take note!

Well, cellphone and PDA software have already matured well beyond mere Pacman and Snake-clones.

For instance Zeoneo's Invasion, an AmigaAnywhere PDA / Smartphone game which received excellent reviews from the mainstream press, I personally don't mind playing on my PC as well.

Invasion.mpg

Just like operating systems like QNX or Linux, which are scaleable from small devices to servers, software can also be developed to be scaleable. Of course the available features and functionality would depend upon the actual device. Software engineers can adapt their software to best suit the target.

If you want a measured degree of whackiness, it's probably no more whacked than taking AInc PR seriously 5 years ago; I don't think the whackometer can go any higher. If he actually meant people to take any of this seriously, then the whackometer needs recalibration for 2006.

(Please God, let this be fake!)

The original Amiga team also took several years to complete its project (of ocurse there was no impatient Amiga community to worry about back then), today computers and software projects have become a lot more complex. The original plan to have the Tao Group as a foundation partner (or QNX before that under Gateway) was also due to being able to save some time.

I don't hink so, the templeoftech.com has done more genuine interviews with Amiga Inc representatives in the distant past.

Well, sure but they didn't spend half the time BSing and scamming their potential costumer-base, and they had people who actually knew what they did (Barry leading an OS team was allready laughable back in 2001).

I don't know what to think and/or believe anymore.

Here's hoping that this is true and things will go well.

The original Amiga team did not have an user community to worry about for supplying with information on their progress. Of course Hi-Toro / Amiga Corp's problems with Atari and later the mismanagement under Commodore wasn't without problems.

In the end the developed products will matter, people aren't using Microsoft products merely because of Microsoft's outstanding (ahem..) reputation within the industry.
