| Amessage dont work, icq lamp just lights. No users. Jabber.dk i cant register to any icq transport. Jabber.fr shows both icq and msn users but not all. Wookiechat with bitlbee server is the only that works for now at least on my os4 system and it works really great. But i understand there is not time for coding on jabber ;( |

| Great!
Hope I can get it to work again. I have always been using myjabber.net but since a years or so back all users appear offline when using it. If I need to move I need to move the contacts as well though....
Which server do you ppl recommend for ICQ and MSN?
BTW. How about a list-of-changes which doesn't include internal programming changes? Not that interesting to users.... What I like to know is: Have you included signal(SIGINT,SIG_IGNORE); or signal(SIGINT,do_clean_exit); yet so that JabberWocky doesn't crash everytime when issuing a NetShutDown on OS4 which sends Ctrl-C to all bsdsocket applications? _________________ - Don't get fooled by my avatar, I'm not like that (anymore, mostly... maybe only sometimes) > Amiga Classic and OS4 developer for OnyxSoft.

| There are numerous Jabber servers that Jabberwocky will work with. IM programs for MSN, ICQ or AIM only need to work with a single professionally run server. There are hundreds of Jabber servers which can be individually customized. Just as there are lots of poorly written WEB pages, there are lots of unusually configured Jabber servers. Additionally, there are some servers that will only accept a secure connection (TLS) and Jabberwocky lacks that capability.
As far as changes go, I'm lucky I had the time to cut and paste change notes from my SourceForge CVS commits. If more people were working on the program the results would probably be better. For the past several years I've done all the documentation, programming and debugging. I'm ready to move on and just want to get a stable release so I can do so. If there are significant bugs in v1.7 that I can fix we will release an update (v 1.7.1) in a couple of months.
I tested Jabberwocky 1.7 and the program just disconnects and exits cleanly when I use the Netshutdown command. However, I don't really have a network set up and am on a dialup connection. Will setting SIGINT affect a Ctrl-C issued from the command line? I don't want to disable a command line abort, only the RoadShow abort signal. Where is SIG_IGNORE defined? I searched the entire OS4 SDK and can't find it.
Personally, I have to question why RoadShow is sending break signals to all the applications when it shuts down. I don't remember Miami doing that. _________________ X1000 with 2GB memory & OS4.1FE

| @Xenic
The correct signal line is this: signal(SIGINT,SIG_IGN);
It blocks the built-in Unix-like Ctrl-C handling. You can still Wait(SIGBREAKF_CTRL_C) the normal Amiga way.
No, Miami didn't send Ctrl-C to the tasks that had opened bsdsocket.library, but I guess RoadShow does this to be able to remove the lib from memory and shutdown completely or something.
However, I can't seem to register my MSN transport on jabbernet.dk using 'my%email.com@msn.jabbernet.dk' I never get any response after clicking Register. I tried to login to the online MSN network/messenger thing and it (still) works with my email and password.
ICQ worked fine though, as did the arexx script for moving contacts! What is the PyMSN?? Last edited by Deniil715 on 08-Jun-2007 at 08:08 PM.

| I have never found a Jabber server with all transports working reliably all the time. Since running a Jabber server is not typically a profit motivated endeavor, most of them (and associated transports) are not monitored very closely. However, it is possible to use transports at servers other than the server where you have established an account. I use Jabber.org which has no IM Transports but is a reliable Jabber server. All my transports are registered at other servers. If a transport stops working, I just remove it and register a transport somewhere else. That could be a problem if you have a lot of contacts through a transport. You will need to remove them and resubscribe to them through the new transport. Try this:
Open the Agents window with the Jabberwocky "Windows/Agents.." menu item. In the string gadget to the left of the "Visit" button and enter a Jabber server ID (like 12jabber.com). Then click the "Visit" button. You can usually register the Transports that show up in the list. Some servers block users of other servers from registering their transports but most don't. _________________ X1000 with 2GB memory & OS4.1FE
