Supposedly it's both CSPPC and BPPC, but I can't confirm that completely.
EDIT: Rogue confirmed it's both CSPPC and BPPC in post #17 in this thread. Last edited by zerohero on 21-Oct-2007 at 12:09 PM.

| great news. I honestly never thought it would happen, but it's cool. Shame I sold off my PPC and BVision to pay some bills a few years ago. :(
I look forward to seeing what it's capable of. |

| It will be interesting to see whether they actually go through with this or not given the current circumstances. Kind of "brave" if you ask me... |

| Just a thought, but considering the ability for OS4 to run many OS friendly apps and to run others within EUAE, would a company like Individual be able to create a market for a classic PPC board based on the Blizzard/Cyberstorm boards, but without the expensive 68040 or 68060 chip (which in theory is no longer needed)? _________________ AmigaOne X1000, A4000(T), A3000, A2000, A1200(T), A1200, A500, CD32, Minimig+ARM, FPGA Arcade, Chameleon64, C-One, C128, C128D, C64C, C64, VIC-20, CBM 8032, CBM4032, Efika, Ultimate64

| If this had been Amiga Inc I wouldn'thave believed it.
But this is Hyperion speaking and I believe.
40 more days and here we go (all them classic machines out there).
Big market to be had.

| Congrats and good work to the Hyperion technical team, for getting the classic version in shape to deliver. This will make many folks happy.
To the Hyperion business and legal teams, however, what are you thinking? Given that the classic version is one of the explicit items you were to deliver as part of the contract with AInc, and that ownership of the entire product and IP is now in question with the lawsuit, I don't see any way there won't be an AInc lawyer in front of the judge this week getting a temporary injunction restraining you from advertizing, distributing or selling any such product. Given the ongoing legal question, I don't see how a judge would allow one party to proceed with using the IP when the ownership is in limbo.
If you really wanted to get this into the hands of as many users as possible, I would have said nothing at all until there were 2000 copies in the hands of dealers, so they could announce, sell and ship as many copies as possible before they are injoined to stop. At least that way you could maybe sell some hundreds of copies in the few days before the legal door slams shut. This way I don't see how even AInc can be 40 days late and fail to stop this distribution.
I might even suspect that this is just a PR tactic to counter the recent open letter from Bill M. This will be a good way to spin more public opinion back in Hyperion's favor as "See, we have the promised product ready to deliver, and tried to sell it, but now it's the bad AmigaInc team stopping you from having what you want."

That´s not true, because there is a big difference: AmigaOS4 for Classic is a REAL product. _________________ AmigaOne X5000/40, 2.2 Ghz, 4 GB RAM, Radeon R9 280X, M-Audio Revolution 5.1, 240 GB SSD

I can.
The CD will boot on Amiga 3000, 4000, 4000T and Amiga 1200 provided they have either a BlizzardPPC or CyberStormPPC installed.
As was said, no installed OS needed, AmigaOS 4.0 can be installed on a bare machine with just a harddisk, floppy and CD-ROM. The install CD will require a boot from floppy to load the required driver to mount the CD. If you have a system installed, you can also launch the installation directly from the supplied CD-ROM. _________________ Seriously, if you want to contact me do not bother sending me a PM here. There is going to be a hardware compatibility list with all relevant information. Right now, there is a Highway driver for USB (I dunno if that supports the Subway too). IIRC FastATA and IDEFix and similar hardware is supported, although the installation process currently requires you to either have an IDE CD-ROM OR a SCSI CD-ROM connected to the CyberStormPPC.
Note that the Blizzard's SCSI controller is currently NOT supported, i.e. only IDE on the A1200. Support for more hardware might come in an update.
On the PCI side, all Prometheus-type PCI solutions and Mediator 1200/4000 are supported. No "DMA-Tricks" though, _________________ Seriously, if you want to contact me do not bother sending me a PM here. Write me a mail
