   posted by fingus on 16-Nov-2011 9:38:09 (4844 reads)
Flipclock is a nice Weather-Flipclock Commodity for your AmigaOS4.1 Desktop. It offers the actual weather situation and of course a forecast for the next days.

Requirements:
=============
- WGET (Grab it from http://www.os4depot.net)

OOOOH NOOOOO!!!

That UGLY piece of .. HTC clock has multiplied!!
Heeeeeeelp, run for your lives before it eats you alive!!!!

(I actually looked to get a new phone and wanted an HTC because it seemed good, but that #&% ugly clock they show off EVERYWHERE put me off. It simply makes me angry.)

Good work with the app though I'm sure many will use and like it. Myself, I'll stick with LimpidClock and Wet....

@Deniil

I actually like the clock on HTC and thats because if makes me happy when sun is shining, its snowy outside, raining etc. And you can access the weather, stop watch, alarm clock etc without having to open another tool.

But lately i totally went to GO Launcher EX. I use very minimal look and hide apps that isnt deletable, grouped stuff in own drawers, make more rows for icons etc. Its got alot of config and smart made. I love it :)

I look forward to ICS (Ice Cream Sandwitch).

No it's a nice looking program, and the features are great.

I'm just quite allergic to that type of clock since HTC started having it on *every single* advertisment. Like two big square dumb eyes staring hard at you all the time. It just doesn't work for me. It ####es me off.

And my android phone does not have that kind of clock.

Of course, the author of this "fully fledged" AmigaOS appliation obviously has the consent and blessing of the graphics' copyright-holder to use the HTC weather icons. Sigh.

@Petah
Lets see you do better then...
I have seen plenty of other amiga software or icon packs that is pretty much just copied from another source.
This is nothing new, which can probably be explained by lack of talented graphics artists.

I for one am happy about this software.

Nice little program, but how do you enter cities
with two (2) or more words?

For example:

Los Angeles
New York
New Haven
New Orleans
West Palm Beach
Palm Beach
St. Petersburg
St. Moritz

set weatherlocation-tooltype to:

weather_location=new york

and you get weather data for New York, NY

and so on....

Thanks, but I had already tried that, and it didn't work.

It generated the following error message:

ATTENTION, ERROR !!!
Corrupted Weather Data!
Please enter a valid city-name into the Tooltype weather_location!!

After re-reading the error message, I tried replacing spaces with
hyphens/dashes (-), and that worked.
