It has a lot to do with economies of scale. I'm pretty sure Apple CPU modules as well as the 3rd party CPU modules aren't built in such small volumes that I'm anticipating.

| Excellent news . Hmmmm didnt Eyetech have some micro and XE boards around with CPU modules as the only missing component ??? Are these modules developed in colaboration with Rose Amont or is that a different story? |

| This is great news.
Unfortunately, as much as I'd love to have a 1.7GHz G4, it's out of my price range. Can I trade in my 800 MHz G4 for a big discount? Please? Last edited by Hans on 23-Apr-2006 at 03:50 PM.

This has been in the works on and off for quite some time. The work has all been based on reverse engineering all the dead CPU modules that have come my way. As it was starting to appear that there were a number of people in need of CPUs and looking for some extra horsepower, it was time to get the ball rolling.

| @hans: i'm really sure others with dead XE cpu's that cannot afford the update may offer you a good deal by purchasing your old cpu. _________________ Cuida tus piedras gordas.

I could be interested in that module myself if it's cheap enough... _________________ Simon
