i wonder iff the cpu card will be sold seprative, lets say my local scool have some mac´s and one of them its defekt but the cpu is working, whot gonna be the prob to plug in a cpu from another part then ACK, i mean i bet i can find a cheaper cpu some were, ore maby a used one !.
how much just for the card iff i find the cpu my self,

whot kind off cpu´s will work one it,
i know the g4 will but in speed lets say, i find a 2 ghz g4 cpu will it work, whot is the limet of the cpu raser card ???


another thing i wonder, will the ELBOX "shark" in terori work on os 4.0

imagine a g4 cpu 1,7 card from ACK and a "shark" in the pci.

The 1Ghz version give me too little benefit for my 800mhz G4, it only 200mhz increase we are taking about, nice CPU module for any one whit burnt out CPU.


The 1.7Hhz modules close to doubles the speed, but is bit more expensive.


sorry to say that do not have the cash for 1.7 Ghz module so I most wait until have some more cash or it drops in price.

Glad to see that the AmigaOne will finally get back into the same performance ball-park as desktop PCs, with a 1.7GHz processor that (if what someone said is correct) has four times the L2 cache as the old one. Of course it is still lagging, but 1.7GHz is a lot better than 0.8Ghz, particularly given that it's a PPC, and it's not as if most of us actually NEED that much cpu power most of the time.

If only it were true (I doubt it) that Alan's only problem was sourcing CPUs for his remaining A1 mobos...

Surely Seehund's "banana humping" animation (bananahump.gif) in post #121 is a violation of the T&C somehow? I couldn't find the T&C to check, and so have not actually reported it.

But basically, in reply to the "Where's the Donate button?" he quoted, Seehund basically seems to be saying (graphically rather than in words) that the guy is asking to be f*ck*d again (and probably enjoying it) for a high-priced low-performance board (not that I agree with him). Certainly that was the tone of the post he linked to. And I'm sure saying that in words here would be a ban.

Well it’s always nice whit the little extra for compiling, but I think the biggest slowdown it not the CPU, it the file system and hard drive, emulators on the other hand can some time be quite demanding thinking about Intel / AMD pc emulator or the Arch emulator.

This is the joy of internet, you have (a) an animation + (b) a sentence and you get (c) a full drama to explore...

When I bought my Blizzard PPC I surely knew that (a) it was overpriced and that (b) any time soon I could be pretty f*ck*d myself due to lack of A1200 parts. It actually be seen as a quite dumb thing to do, but anyhow that's how someone who wouldn't spend that money would think (probably) and they might be right, in their own view, the problem here is that world is like them, not actually like us...

Actually, that 1.7GHz should be faster than my AthlonXP/1800 (runs at ~1.5GHz).

And compile times are really the thing here. It can't be the HD any more. That's damn fast now using DMA and all that. But with the cache alone, it should boost performance. Hopefully I can afford one. We'll see. Might wait until middle of the year - and hopefully they will be available over a period of time (say 6 month or so - well, see, I don't really expect too much - as long as I can get something).
