congrats Hyperion and Amigans.

edit: oooops mobunnyinfo not only prooven wrong but also admitted to be false by the author at moobunny. (ie. no point in reading the rest of my post)

Anyway if the moobunny-link is correct then there is another interesting aspect to this.

Is there some guideline to name another AmigaOne-model?

If the owner of the Eyetech license can at will release another model AND the moobunny info is correct, then acube can release the sam under the original license for Eyetech if they rebrand sam440 as AmigaOne Samatha edition, or something.

How's that for conspiracy theory??

@tomazkid

And none of the companies with ACUBE in the title have eyetech as previous names on the companies house website...

Where did this information originate from,
and does this actually state that Eyetech changed its name to Acube?

Well it seems like moobunny-info is bogus.

edit:
@tomazkid. thanks for the quick clearup. (some of us are too lazy to do it.)

@ikir
On the assumption that they have NOT reached an agreement with Amiga Inc (I hope to be proved wrong), I think they WERE really careful with how they wrote their announcement. The reason for the confusion is that this announcement wasn't (primarily) intended for us, it was intended for Amiga Inc. Amiga Inc knows the true state of play, and therefore only they can correctly interpret the nuances of what was said by Hyperion.

Exactly - this announcement is definatly for Amiga inc.

I'm not sure the Moobunny thing is incorrect. Look at the date of the name change (this month), could be eyetech's name and IP have been purchased and almalgamated into Acube, or it could just be Eyetech all over again.

The original poster on moobunny has already admitted the post was made up, so let's drop the "Eyetech" distraction.

This link gives the eyetech info here.

Search for "EYETECH GROUP LIMITED" to re-check.

or company number: 01166297

LOL you couldn't make it up.

Only you could, because it isn't true. ACube and Eyetech are not related and the company has not rebranded itself. It was a joke.

Pure speculation and imagination:
Maybe Hyperion bought the whole Amiga.inc and can do with it what ever they want to do !?!? (Offtopic: Maybe they sold AmigaAnywhere to TAO group.)
End of pure speculation and imagination

Nice to see finally that something is going on.
