Troika Progress Report

Please read on....

Before we start...
We would firstly like to thank all those who have written emails wishing us luck with our project. Its the enthusiasm of you, the users that drives us. Thank you!

Beta Testers
Many of you have expressed an interest in becoming a beta tester for the "Prometheus" motherboard. Rest assured, that we have been working this plan out. Please address all inquiries about beta testing to us, and not Hyperion, they have OS4 to finish, and we all need it done.

Sales/Dealers
Again, we are overwhelmed by the interest expressed by many dealers and individuals about selling our product, we apologize for not returning your emails, We haven't forgotten you, but our total focus currently is getting the new motherboard completed. Rest assured, we will be in touch.

About the "Prometheus" Board
The place to visit on September 24th, Big Bash 3 UK. and the launch of our web site.
We look forward to releasing more details to many of the questions that have been asked.. Provided all our electronic parts show on time, we will have one of our prototypes available at Big Bash 3.

Troika

I hope a amiga like case will be available for this board. I think we need this for a good marketing.

@opi

I would expect that if they have a license either approved or in the works, then they'll announce it at the BB show later this month. You leave big news like that for shows, and that would be the biggest AmigaOS-related news of the year - an approved alternate hardware supplier at last.

@AmigaPapst

The Prometheus board would be a great match for the Fantasy case.

Funny that, it's on Amiga.org as well.

Wonder how it got there

This is decided so no complains Dad!
(In respect of Jay Miner offcourse)

Hope the troika is good and can run OS4 really fast.

Isn't there already a board for the A1200 called Prometheus?

Well, if they ever get a licence it means that there is some sort of discrimination going in the air as Acill wasn't even able to *get in touch* with the representatives... And, correct me if I'm wrong, but Amiga/Hyperion/Whoever is responsible for that are not really in position of doing such thing. The potential of seeing your userbase doubled for free is really important: where are you going if you don't take such opportunity (for whatever stupid reason you may have) ?

Where would be Apple today if they had refused Microsoft's cash ? Apple would be history.

Leo.

@opi

I guess, they will pay Hyperion to do it, if it happens.
But AFAIR, this cost wasn't mentioned by steady when enumerating costs ..
BB will tell..

A couple of questions

Are the following specs of this board correct?

Mini-ITX
CPU: PPC 750
Northbridge: Tundra TSI107
Network: RTL 8110
Sound: CMI8738
USB: µPD720101
2 PCI-Slots
2 RAM-Slots

What price is the board expected to sell at?

Well from what has been discussed in the past on other forums here, the price of $500 USD has been mooted. (projected price)
