About time! This is good news. Classic PowerPC owners should be happy about this announcement.

One question though, how short is "shortly".

Sounds brilliant, But shouldn't the Sam440EP be in the list too?

Excellent news for classic PPC users though!

@AmiBoy

No, so far it means Hyperion and ACube has formed some kind of strategic partnership.

@Amiboy
I don't suppose we'll hear about any OS4 license until after Samantha is officially launched... (which is hopefully Real Soon Now, Honest.)

This announcement looks really kewl to me. This is the first time, both companies tell us they are working together. And they do it giving us a surprise: ACube Systems is the worldwide distributor for OS4.
There's only one smiley for this:

CHEERS!

P.S.: This is a great announce just on 25 March the day we remember that 50 years ago, in 1957 the "Treaty of Rome" was signed and then this agreement leaded European Community to born.

Could they be grabbing success from the jaws of defeat?

Hope so.

I must be dim I only just noticed:

If they get it out for PPC Classics I'll be well pleased as although my 4000 only 68060, it'll bring on a whole raft of new users/developers.

Hopefully this works out to be the best news we've had in a long time! I'm very curious to see how large this "range" of PPC hardware platforms will be.

Sure this is a milestone and introduces development of AmigaOS 4.0 into a complete new path.

It is a step forward to obtain OS4.0 to be released on ANY hardware on which it is possible to run it, and MAINLY such hardware that is manufactured by PARTNERS...
