It can't be the Amizilla bounty, since OWB is an adaptation of Apple's WebCore.

| OWB and IBrowse 2.4 tip:
Most of us will continue to browse with IBrowse 2.4 until OWB gets the basic functionality implemented. Well, you can create a popup menu item in IBrowse 2.4 to launch OWB with the current URL. So if you're browsing and you find a page that doesnt view properly... just right click and select "View in OWB.."
Go into Preferences > Settings > GUI > FAB Menus..
Drag the "custom" listview element from the left listview into the right listview. Put it in the "Page" tree.
For name put "View page in OWB.." (or similar wordings).. Action: Set the cycle gadget to "Command" then in the left string gadget put the path and executable to OWB. On my system its: Dh1:internet/OWB/OWB
.. then in the right hand string gadget, put your arguments. I have: --width 1024 --height 768 %u
Bingo, intergration with IBrowse2.4, sortof! |

| Hi,
THIS is THE AMIGA Spirit !#!
Great,thanks to Andrea !
Hint-Hint ->
Contact all that have donate to the "Sputnik OS4 Bounty" and if all accept, cancel the Bounty and give the Money the REAL sucessor !!
This will a very good task and in the Spirit of Amiga.
I know Andrea dont need a Bounty .. but it is Christmas - and Andrea give us a VERY NICE GIFT ! [Without a "big Hype"-except others->a full CSS browser in 6 month .. still waiting ....]
So it is more than fair give Andrea a Gift back ;)
And -> It is for OS4 Development!

| Wonder what the AWeb & IBrowse teams will make of this? I hope they can take this and integrate it somehow into their products??????? _________________

Sorry, I seem to be mistaken. I was under the impression that the amizilla bounty had been split into 4 doable and equal parts, instead of the now humongous 4-system port. I was also under the impression that it didn't require firefox per say, but rather a browser with similar functionality?
Speaking about browsers, is anyone even working on amizilla? if not why not split the bounty so at least ANY work AT ALL gets done? _________________ Yes I own an Amiga. A non-upgraded A500 that is unpacked once every 3 years.

| @wegster : There are no specific dependencies because the aim of this engine is to abstract it from dozens of libs, only providing a simple interface.
@afxgroup : Great job ! We were all waiting for a modern browser. I know it is not finished yet but it's a very good Christmas gift !
@all : Instead of a bounty (if afxgroup does not want one), please give support testing it and other programs. We can have this modern browser but we can do much more ! Other bounties can be opened to raise motivation of other programers. |

| Thanks Andrea, this came as a real nice surprise to me! Hope to see it evolve fast and that you can continue to stay motivated and have time for further developments Just made a donation (for MPlayer? Please change the Paypal site to display English text??).
I suggest EVERYBODY who downloaded this software and wants to see it evolve further gives Andrea a little christmas present via his donation link. It is located on top of his website: AMIGASOFT.NET

Not going to happen. The bounty was initiated a long time ago, way before anyone knew there was OWB available to port. Btw. hardware was just delivered to the author a few weeks back. The bounty was made specifically for Sputnik as that was the logical application to aim for back then, perhaps that would have been OWB now but that doesn't really matter.
The Bounty wasn't just for any CSS capable webbrowser and it wouldn't be very nice to move money from one project to another, when people have spend time and money on the bounty project and code has been adapted for the OS4 version.
So it's not going to happen, but I expect you made a nice donation for Andrea??Last edited by Troels on 25-Dec-2007 at 11:35 AM.
