@ mbilla

Yes, this is indeed likely.

Probably around the time that hell freezes over.

@ hnl_dk

Thanks for your reasonable reply, which was an example of what I like to see on forums. That's all I'm looking for: just an open exchange of opinions and ideas. I don't expect everyone to agree with me, just to have my points taken for what they're worth, and not tossed aside without thought after being labeled "blue". Sorry for increasing the page load to have to explain this again, folks. I hope everyone can read my posts and make up his/her own mind about my "motives" and not be misled by others' inaccurate claims.

@realize

Hmm, that' s funny. I used OS4 at the weekend and it felt very solid and stable, and didn't crash once - even when the guys were stress-testing it.

Do you know what version of the beta you were using?

@IanS

OS4 beta stability could be discussed in another thread.

It was wrong of him to bring it up in this thread so let's not do his bidding and continue it here.

@mbila

Im going to bite, and try to ignore my suspicion that you are trolling and attempting despite the odds to throw a negative spin on the PR:

Quote:

I still wonder what all these Q&As brought? We were always told about some AG2 and AmigaDE which somehow did never exist.

Now that Amiga Inc is only a name Genesi will probably acquire the name Amiga and the Peg will become Amiga Pegasos with AOS4 running on them.

1. If you see the press release Amiga Inc keeps DE also, one of their main assetts.

2. I have two copies of AmigaDE, so it clearly does exist.

3. Genesi would need substantial sums of money first, which they do not currently seem to have.

Please folks, READ the press releases and the links before commenting.

>Just speculating a bit

If you ask me sounds pretty unlikely if you check the other news item (and especially the list of people joining Amiga in their court-case... you do not usually work with
people you fight in court with...

>mutual development or porting OS4 to Peg. You know you will not catch MOS at >this point...

I can only say if that would *ever* happen (OS4 ported to Peg) I would feel extremely
unhappy about it, after all the stupid mess Mr.Buck did recently. But I do not think
this will ever happen, anyways :)

No. Just an accidental slip of information.

What I want to know is why did they state that this happened last year but we only now finding out about it?

It sounds like AInc. May have been forced into selling through lack of funds but I don?t see how they can now ?focus on the DE? as for the past 18 months at least nothing has happened. I wouldn?t like to be a DE investor at this point.

Sounds like positive spin on a continually bad situation for AInc.

I hope that KMOS get a site together soon and pray that they are a decent company to complement Hyperion and Eyetech.

The Amiga is all split up now ? bits at Gateway ? bits at AInc. And now a big bit at KMOS.

Excellent entertainment these Amiga bombshells!

@Hyperionmp

I think people's fears are justified.

We don't know simply because there is no information up about who KMOS is (or who the used to be LTEC LLC.). It's not very reassuring and a pity they didn't have at least a standard company website ready to go to give people some confidence.

I hope that this lack of readiness (considering this deal seems to have been going on since last April) isn't a sign of things to come.

I am most certainly not getting at you but we have moved form one utterly terrible parent company to the next and as you can probably understand we are all getting used to looking for the bad signs rather than the positive ones.

I actually hoped it was you guys that might step in and take up the reins!

I strongly doubt that this benefits Genesi in any way.

@DaveP

Whilst I want to believe that this is a positive outcome I think I will continue my 'wait and see approach' for my favourite machine - that I have now been following since March 1995.

What people want to see now from KMOS is a good looking website and perhaps they couls tell us about what they envisage for the future of OS4 onwards in some detail.

We need reassurance!

Steffen,

It would be cool to have OS4 ported to the peg... After all the PEG is now placed to dominate the market, by become the cheapest hardware...

What if, theoretically, Genesi went bankrupt much as Viscorp and Thendic have? Then whoever received the IP for the Pegasos decided to sign an agreement with KMOS/Hyperion/whomever and have OS4 ported?

Not that I suspect Genesi will go belly up anytime soon, but one can never really predict what the future holds, as we've all seen today.

I can't see why running AOS4 in a lesser costing machine a bad thing. One may not like the man, but until there's a cheaper ppc board, it would make a lot of sense suporting it...

There is a cheaper ppc board, its not the one by Genesi. It will all come out in due time, until then your questions are pretty much going to remain unanswered.

@ALL
Have you noticed that AInc sold OS almost year ago?
Why not to Hyperion?
