Amiga Fantasy Design Change Announcement |
| hardware OS4 posted by AmigaMac on 10-Dec-2005 19:06:31 (7278 reads) |
Reality Design - Project: Reality
Amiga Fantasy Design Change Announcement December 10th, 2005
The Project Reality team just had a big meeting over the weekend and we wanted to let the Amiga community know that there has been a major change in the Amiga Fantasy design... in fact a brand new wedge style shape. We know that some of you will be disappointed that Marko HIRV's vision will remain a fantasy, but one should understand that technical issues sometimes lead to a "rewrite" so-to-speak. The Project Reality team is however pleased to come up with something as beautiful and even more modern regarding today's industry products design, preserving the Amiga visual identity thank's to our french designer that created this Amiga's evening dress. This design change will both resolve various technical issues as well as better appeal to not only the current Amiga market specifically, but also to those of new and old to the Amiga platform.

AmiPodder 1.4 with Video Podcast Support |
| Software News posted by rhino on 10-Dec-2005 15:31:43 (3208 reads) |
Video podcasts come to the Amiga with AmiPodder 1.4! With the release of iTunes 6 and the new iPod video many podcasters are including video clips in their podcast feeds. AmiPodder now recognises video episodes and can play them back in the video player of your choice (MPlayer and Frogger have been tested, not all video podcasts will play on Amiga players due to the codecs used). If you have a portable device capable of playing video, AmiPodder can sync the movies to it too.

individual Computers: 8 Bit Baby now available |
| Hardware News posted by Wiesel on 9-Dec-2005 14:13:42 (3050 reads) |
The product "8 Bit Baby", that was already announced in forums and with flyers, is finally available! It's an experimenting-board for hobbyists who want to develop hardware on their own. As the name already suggests, the board aims at users of the popular 8-bit computers of the 80s. These computers all have expansion ports that carry all important signals. Unfortunately, most hobbyists do not have the chance to make their own expansions, because experimenting boards normally do not have slot-connectors.
This problem is now solved with the "8 Bit Baby". The board has a special connector for a computer on each of the four sides: [Read on]

AmiZilla Update 9/12/05
Right, it' s been awhile since we had an update- as we didn't have much time free, things were quiet there for awhile. But recently it's been quite exciting!

Interview with Mr Adam Kowalczyk - ACK Software Controls. |
| hardware OS4 posted by shoe on 30-Nov-2005 19:16:01 (35947 reads) |
It was back in December 2004 when we heard about the plans from ACK Software Controls on PowerPC-based expansion-cards for the Amiga 1200. A year has now passed and no one seem to have heard anything from ACK regarding these cards. Are the plans put on hold, or even canceled? Many questions without answers, only silence. So SAFIR decided to put on the Sherlock hat and took out the magnifying glass to get to the bottom of this mystery.
Enjoy the full article in English, Spanish and of cource Swedish.
[Edit 06-Dec-2005] I'm glad to let you know that ACK Software Controls will indeed produce graphics cards for the PowerVixxen LT, and provide full specs for 3rd party developers.
Adam also verifies that the card works with the Mediator bus board.

End result of the DevContest 2005 |
| Internet News posted by elwood on 5-Dec-2005 9:28:12 (7618 reads) |
Hello everyone,
Here is the result of this first AmigaOS DevContest. This is not what you (and I) wanted it to be but this contest will be something useful after all.
As there are a lot of uploads on OS4depot, I thought more people would be interested to enter the contest. I was wrong but 8 projects were proposed. This is not bad.
