Hmmm I wonder if one of these "products" was the PPC prototype Bill was going to show at Amiwest, before he had to cancel due to his son being hit with an Ice Hockey puck.

sure he has an account. But he will not type anything. Didn't you notice that all announcements are unclear and have no details? This counts for Acube + Hyperion as well as for Amiga Inc + ACK. Nobody of them is replying to the key questions: When will it be possible to have AOS4 + hardware? What are the specs? When will it be possible to buy it?

It's not so difficult, if you are willing to give the answers.

An unexpected but welcome announcement.

To bad there is so little information in this press release.
They mention two pieces of PPC based hardware and a target price.
I want to know what I'll get for my $500 or $1500.
The press release suggests the hardware is ready for (mass)production,
so posting the specs and some pictures couldn't hurt.

But the real question is:
Will we get new hardware now, or just another sad excuse?

Kind regards,

Dennis

Funny to see that the biggest idiots of the Amiga scene are teaming up. Bill McEwen, who hasn't been able to give any proof of ownership of the classic Amiga OS in the past 20 months, who wanted to send me contracts "by the end of the week" (that was in february), and the guy from Canada who owes me a bunch of money for tooling cost for the 150-pin A1200 CPU slot connectors.

Oh, and what about that money Adam got from my Swedish friend? Did he ever pay that back? I mean, his track record of "hardware development" is to take money in advance and never finish anything, always with the line "I'm just a single person".

Hey, I'm also alone, but I don't make promises that I know I can't keep. I don't go around and cause other people financial damage by talking BS. Sure, it's also my fault, because I made the mistake of believing ACK/Adam.

What was that last time I called him in the office? He picked up the phone, I asked "is that Adam?", he said "no", and I replied "hey, you got exactly the same voice!" and he said "hey, I almost look like him, too" and hung up. Great show, really.

I wrote numerous eMails to Adam, he never replied. I've sent numerous connector samples to him, he never paid any of them. I asked him to return the samples, but he obviously used them for something - maybe to "convince" investors? Is that "working behind the scenes"? Oh yeah, I forgot, this is the Amiga market, where anyone who makes a promise is hyped for years.

This news item has a great entertainment factor. More of that!

@Jens

Seems we will have more entertainment coming the next weeks if they keep their promise regarding further announcements. Well, atleast you will get that for your expenses.

The stuff you tell about Adam doesn't sound to good, one thing is not being able to finish stuff (on time) but not paying people you owe money just seems to fit to good with Amiga Inc.

What of SAM?

It looks like the battle of ownership to me. Maybe I will be proven wrong but Ack has a license and Acube does not. AInc claims they have exersized the buyback and wants their OS4. Hyperion claims otherwise and won't give it to them. Then you have the Frienden's that claim they have ownership of their part and started porting without AInc involvement.

Looks like a bigger mess than previosly thought. To those who thought the ownership question was/is no big deal between AInc and Hyperion: What is your take of ACK getting License and not ACube? Would you support ACube if they are rogue and not official? How do yo feel about ports to other unauthorized hardware?

@stew

ACK has a license? Are you sure? It's not even stated which OS will run on this board.

I think it's too early to do some assumptions. In times like that I would not be surprised if you can read a news item next week stating that SAM has the license. Today, everything is possible because everything is perfectly unclear.

How about, Bill doing that interview in front of the camera while broadcasting to the internet or, recording a video of himself answering the 20 questions and posting that video on AW or Aorg?

At least we could see his face while answering the 20 questions or something... just an idea...

I like your idea!

@stew

I couldn't be happier if Hyperion and ACube shafted AInc and I'd laugh my #### off if Hyperion did AInc's little shell game trick of disappearing then reappearing as a 'different' company in order to side step inconvenient commitments made in the past.

Even if nothing else about the AInc/ACK announcement stunk, the timing is very suspicious.

Not that I think that my comment might have any relevance, but I for that price it should better contain a CellBE (better a DP with DDR2) and a GF7900 (or the like). And a complete case and HD etc. Something what you can sell into a niche. Doubt that, though (libspe(2) is on sourceforge - all you need). Should make a nice video editing machine.
