| I used to come here 2-4 times day but lack of any "BIG" news has reduced my visits to ~ 2-4 times a month.
So I'm very glad to see this BIG news item where it is.

| I don't get it. What exactly is new about this News item since it was originally posted on the 17th of September so that it keeps coming up as "latest" news? This is just starting to look more and more like advertisement that actual news.
I was actually starting to think that there were no other news items posted since Sept. 17, until I finally noticed the actual dates on the news items below it and realized what was going on.

It isn't that the news item is "new", it is just that it is a "big thing". As some people have already stated, they may not visit the site all that regularly, and in light of a lack of any other major news, this item has been moved back to the top to make it much more visible.
Very few people read anything more that the 10 items on the front page, followed by the forum posts (either the top 10, or the recent thread list), and so could easily miss this story.
Also, it is one of the most active news articles at present, so moving it to the top helps people keep abreast of new posts in it. It isn't often a news article is kept on the front page in this manner, but this is one of those few for now. We apologise if it confuses some people owing to the news articles date making it appear like the site has "lost" some days posts/articles.

Since this kind of news happens so rarely, and is such big news, it becomes "news" for a longer time than the normal reoccuring daily news. This is not "daily" news, but more like decadly news and therefore deserves a bit longer exposure.
In all other respects I logically agree with you, and actually begin to get a bit tired of seeing it at the top myself by now since I visit here every day....

| Wouldn't be good to have this week-end's OS 4.1 on SAM presentation (ANT meeting) or the next week AmiWest with Hyperion representative demoing OS4.1 on SAM or even ACube competing with OS 4.1 on SAM at the Colmar challenge on top instead of this one month old news ?
Maybe someone can create an "OS 4.1 available on SAM" banner and put it in the header between AmigaWorld.net and the ad banner this way the information would always be displayed whichever page one would be viewing.
I will probably be chided for saying this, but anyway I'll finish : giving this news more visibility is automatically giving other less visibility, is it fair ? Moreover I thought this site wasn't OS4 centric since secede of Amigans.net members, IIRC Morphos on Efika wasn't given as much importance...

I think the main point it is the first new "Amiga" hardware for OS4, and while the site covers all Amiga news it is still more focussed on OS4.

I've made one to add to my signatures on various forums. Unfortunately, none Amiga related forums seem to have a policy to dis-allow animated GIFs. When I return from vacation I'll dig into it more deeper and try to convert my little effort into FLASH or some other PC format allowed by other forums.
