Software News   Audio Evolution news
Software News posted by DaveAE on 4-Oct-2006 22:13:28 (7069 reads)
As of October 5th 2006, the world-wide distribution and publishing contract with Computer City has ended due to lack of payment. Also, a large price reduction was required to have a competitive pricing when Audio Evolution 5 is released early next year on Mac OSX and Windows.

This means that from now on, Audio Evolution 4 can be purchased for the incredibly low price of 49 euro (a 100 euro price drop!) from the author directly. Because of this price, the full version will be sent by email instead of on CD. For users of classic machines on OS3, the older Audio Evolution 3 is also available for only 25 euro (with limited support). For ordering information, please send an email to order@audio-evolution.com or visit the Audio Evolution homepage.

Events   EFIKA PPC entry-platform at EBV TechTrends 2006
Events posted by nickname on 4-Oct-2006 14:29:46 (10188 reads)
This autumn a wealth of PPC product announcements and prototypes have been brought forward in the quest for an AmigaOS 4.0 hardware target. One of the more interesting candidates for an effective market expansion might be the production-ready EFIKA, pairing low cost hardware (PPC SoC at 18 USD) with a typical light-weight OS for an enjoyable user experience.

PPCNUX wanted to find out what is behind this simple board and visited hardware veteran bplan at a German embedded electronics symposium to dig out more details.

Software News   AmiATLAS Status Report
Software News posted by AndreasM on 3-Oct-2006 15:28:19 (2655 reads)
At the moment a complete rework/update of the different travel guides is in progress. Further there is an extension of the information about parks with better maps for a more precise route calculation. Of course the emphasis lies on the German map because of the much higher demand. The network of streets is uptodate including recently opened highway sections.

If someone wishes his residence to be included (even the smallest places!) in the map just write a mail with the name of the location, Geo-coordinates and information on the street connections (description and the exact distance to other locations).

As always we are searching for helpers for data entering! Lists of coordinates are always welcome... Alternatively also helpers for the entering of the data into the maps themself.

There are also possibilities for the view and print od data in various formats like HTML or PDF instead of AmigaGuide.

Hardware News   Speed-Link and Individual Computers revive a true classic!
Hardware News posted by CD32freak on 30-Sep-2006 13:27:31 (3510 reads)
Weertzen, September 2006 - Video game pioneers know it - the COMPETITION PRO for Commodore 64 (C64) and Amiga systems won the hearts of the gaming community in the eighties and soon became the most successful joystick of all times. It's extreme durability and the characteristic clicking of the microswitches ensured its brand recognition.
It's back now! In cooperation with Individual Computers, SPEED-LINK now re-creates the joystick in its classic form: The Competition Pro with a plug for Commodore, Amiga, Atari, Amstrad/Schneider CPC and MSX Systems.
