Unreal.
As for whole topic, in general, its all in the best case will be as with x1000 from HW side, but you also need aos4, mos or aros on it. With aos4 / mos you have no choice (as they will not give you permission most luckyly), and for AROS cusa byitself didn't want it. Putting linux on any new HW will make no sense the same as putting linux now on x86 HW. _________________ Join us to improve dopus5! zerohero's mirror of os4/os3 crosscompiler suites

| ohhhh my god...
is this real?
It is a bad joke... - bad taste, really bad taste.
Mr. Nigro - please do not post any more in this forum - I don't like this kind of making claims, before you know, what the community is thinking about you.
First listen - then ask. Understand? _________________ Sometimes we give people a lot of credit just because they're writing nice sentences even if it isn't adding up to much.

| The community needs to take some responsibility for making this product decision. We're basically saying....decide....and we'll do it. Exactly what you want.....and we'll give it to you at cost....and we won't take your money until your satisfied and it's completed.....In six months of having decided. Think of it as a kickstarter for the Amiga community. _________________ Leo Nigro, CTO Commodore USA, LLC Opinions expressed are my own and not those of C= USA. | @BigBentheAussie
Writing of new OS today will take not just years, but ten years, 20 years. And many programmers. Not one, not two, even not 10. So, you can't give to amiga-community any kind of OS (its just unpossible in such timeline). As for HW, all the HW already done. A lot for PPC, and a lot for x86. Even if you will do now cheap ppc notebook, you still not have rights to port mos or aos4 to it, what mean, you again out of luck.
Imho there is nothing what you can do. Except, that only spend your money on bountyes, but there will be no profit, of course. Or just support one, or another current way (what mean, that there again will be no profit in end).
And of course, asking for pre-pays from your side and with your currnent reputation , its just unreal. Even if your reputation will be good, i think all those amiga users , even blind fans , are tired with all that stuff about pre-pays and waiting for years for dunno what. | @BigBentheAussie seriously, Amiga community want LESS confusion and more clarity: we do not need Linux or Windows "Amiga branded PCs", a fact that will rise confusion and will end up to dilute further the value of the Amiga trademark.
What remains of the original Amiga computers is AmigaOS, and if C=USA wants to sell Amiga branded machines, you must find a way to collaborate with Hyperion. An Amiga without AmigaOS is a fake. _________________ A1200/020+68882 - 6 MB RAM - AmigaOS 3.0

| Well this does seem to good to be true........
Assuming it is people, ye better get your serious thinking heads on, This will possibly be the LAST time a company with some serious recourses will do anything like this. Maybe they can make a deal with Hyperion; Commodore does the hardware/ Hyperion the software...
Ya never know, stranger things have never happened .......
